A family-owned business, Papadimitriou S.A. has been successfully trading for over 70 years. Driven by passion and commitment to continuous innovation, the company created the first Greek balsamic vinegar and is a proud purveyor of fine, all-natural Mediterranean foods. With a strong presence in the domestic market and increasing exports around the globe, Papadimitriou is constantly looking for ways to expand both its product range and business activities.
Sweetened by the Greek Sun
Based on a traditional local recipe and using select sun-dried currants from southern Peloponnesian vineyards, Papadimitriou created its range of Kalamata Balsamic Vinegars. Pure, natural and completely free of artificial coloring, sweeteners and preservatives, these unique balsamic vinegars are comparable to some of their finest Italian counterparts. The range also includes balsamic vinegars flavored with figs or honey, as well as an exclusive aged balsamico presented in a specially designed bottle. The Papadimitriou Kalamata Balsamic Vinegar is the first Greek product of its kind and has been the best selling balsamic vinegar in Greece since 2005.
Mediterranean Flavors, Naturally
Inspired by the finest flavors and ingredients the country has to offer, Papadimitriou S.A. has developed and produced a host of delicious, all-natural Mediterranean products. Balsamic creams and traditional vinegars, Kalamata P.D.O. extra virgin olive oil and dried Greek fruit, and, of course, the acclaimed Balsamon Mediterranean Mustards. Made using the company’s currant-based balsamic vinegar, honey, extra virgin olive oil and aromatic Greek herbs, the Balsamon range offers consumers a true taste of the Greek Mediterranean cuisine. Papadimitriou also offers a full range of organic options and HO.RE.CA.-specific solutions.
A Family Affair
Drawing on diverse fields of expertise—from oenology to design and business administration—three generations of the Papadimitriou family have brought together their knowledge and enthusiasm to contribute to the company’s success. What started out as a small production facility and trading company in 1939 is now one of the largest food processing companies in the country. New products, branding and advertising are all developed in house, and Papadimitriou’s products and processed and packaged in the company’s privately owned facilities before being distributed to an impressive 28 countries around the world.

Why Papadimitriou S.A. is Successful
The company’s recipe for success is based on a simple idea: start with the best raw ingredients and work hard to transform them into excellent products. Generation after generation, the Papadimitriou family have committed their enthusiasm and expertise to creating healthy and delicious, value-added food products based on the finest raw materials available, like the world-famous Greek currants and Kalamata olives.
The Innovative Edge
Papadimitriou S.A. used sun-dried currants to create the first Greek balsamic vinegar, transforming excess raw material into a value-added product. The company also developed a range of products based on, or complimentary to, its Kalamata Balsamic Vinegar, ensuring that growth in one product line translates into growth across the board. Papadimitriou continues to innovate, constantly working towards developing new products that highlight the healthiest and tastiest ingredients of the Greek Mediterranean cuisine.
One of the company’s biggest challenges was the dominance, both in the market and in consumer consciousness, of Italian balsamic vinegar. The company overcame this obstacle by promoting the benefits and unique characteristics of its Kalamata Balsamic Vinegars and has been at the top of the Greek market in balsamic vinegar since 2005.
Goals for 2013
In 2013, Papadimitriou S.A. aims to increase its share in core markets such as Australia, Finland, Greece and the Czech Republic. Meanwhile, the company plans to improve its production methods and further upgrade its facilities in order to better cope with constantly rising demand and intends to introduce new product lines in the near future.
